The countdown to Easter is definitely on! It's so soon! Time to break out some fun themed activities to kick off the season! The preschool age group is so fun because they are just old enough to grasp the Easter message to some degree and they enjoy everything to the fullest! Definitely means some serious fun can be had!
To get your Easter fun started here are a few ideas of some Easter Egg themed activities and crafts that I did with my three year old and a friend of his. They had a blast!
Alphabet Egg Hunt
I just wrote an uppercase letter on the top half of a plastic egg, then wrote the matching lowercase letter on the bottom half of the egg. Then I sent the kiddos upstairs for a few minutes and I hid the eggs around the house (fairly easy to spot places since my kids were 2 & 3). They came down and eagerly hunted all the eggs, shouting out the letters as they found them.
Then we popped all the eggs apart, mixed them up, and had fun matching up the letters - two activities in one!
For this one I just cut a simple egg shape out of paper and drew lines to divide the egg into ten stripes. I numbered the stripes 1-10. Armed with small stickers, my kiddos got to work putting the correct number of stickers on each line. They loved it! Fun with stickers and number practice to boot!
This one was definitely a huge hit with my small people. I just gave them each a plastic egg to use as a stamp. They dipped it in the paint then stamped circles onto a sheet of paper. Simple and super fun!
All this fun with Easter eggs was a great way to open the conversation to how the eggs are empty just like Jesus' tomb. My little guy is just starting to get it this year so that really resonated with him and helped him connect to the story of Christ's death and resurrection.
Praying your Easter season is full of fun and saturated with the message of the amazing work Christ did for us on the cross!
And don't forget - our Easter party plan is still on sale! It's stuffed full of tons of awesome activities and games to make this holiday super meaningful and enjoyable for the kiddos in your life. Check it out here!
